How to Remove Graffiti from Brick Walls
As you may already know it can be stressing and frustrating for any business owner or home owner to have graffiti on the walls. Here are the steps necessary to clean up graffiti without leaving more mess as it usually happen with other solutions. This is a tried and proven method that will not require you to replace the brick wall.
Step # 1 – Gather all the necessary equipment and tools.
A rented pressure washer, gloves, waterproof tape, plastic bags, gel or paste created specifically for paint removal, a stiff bristled cleaning brush and brick sealant.
Step # 2 – After covering fixtures and electrical outlets with waterproof tape and plastic bags near the area is to be treated, seal and close doors and windows near the brick walls; this is done in order to prevent water to infiltrate into a building during washing.
Step # 3 -Wear your gloves and follow written instructions when using the removal chemicals. Wait for the right amount of time for the gel or paste to make its effect. Use the brush in the area to be treated after you apply the chemicals. All these steps are necessary to remove and loosening a great portion of the graffiti, therefore making the next step much easier.
Step # 4 – With the pressure washer at hand, stand 4 to 6 feet away from the area to be treated and apply it from top to bottom. Do this step as many times as needed until the graffiti is completely removed.
As you can see this way of cleaning up brick walls is very effective since it doesn’t have the flaws of other methods which usually allow the paint to go deeper into the brick wall. By applying the brick sealant after the brick wall has been treated will aid in the prevention of damage from the pressure washer.
